MSD_print_08.jpgThe PADI Open Water course,the world’s most popular scuba certification course, is presented in steps as listed below.Step 1: You gain the basic knowledge by attending a conventional classroom session at our shop or by completing PADI’s on-line, eLearning program.

Step 2:Once the knowledge development is completed we move to our large in house salt water pool for the real fun.  In the pool we teach you the in-water skills & techniques needed for both fun & safe diving.

Step 3: Now we take you to an open water dive site, either a local lake or the ocean, where you develop additional skills by diving with a certified & insured PADI Instructor.- Minimum age for the course: 10 yrs | Medical & liability release required -Open Water (Step 3) Options: 

  1. Dive Trip: While most of our students prefer to complete the open water portion of the course at a local lake many elect to join us on one of our monthly trips to the Caribbean. This is a great & fun way to combine your scuba dive training with a Caribbean vacation,.. after all, you know you deserve it!  Just give us a call or email us to discuss this option.
  2. Referral Option: If one our our regularly scheduled dive trips doesn’t fit your schedule or, if you already have an ocean vacation planned, we can arrange for you to complete your course through the “Referral Process” during your vacation. Call to discuss the details – 816-358-0855.

  1. Classroom & pool – Over 1 weekend
  2. Classroom & pool – 3 week night sessions

All scuba equipment provided, except mask,fins snorkel & fins. Most purchase these at our discounted prices.  But, are also available for rent.

Private & semi-private classroom and pool training.

Group chooses either conventional or eLearning classroom sessions.

This is the perfect option for an individual, family, or small group of friends that would like to arrange scuba training as a private group to fit their schedule. Arrangements can be made to meet almost any vacation deadline or special circumstance.

Step 1 & 2 – Option C:

PADI eLearning course.

Progress through online curriculum at your pace.

After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, review and correct anything you might happen to miss. The eLearning course allows you to move through the program efficiently at your own pace.

After eLearning portion is completed, you then come to the dive shop to sign paperwork and arrange to complete your open water dives with our instructors. Upon completion, your certification is exactly the same as if you had attended classes at the shop.

Step 2: Open water check out dives

PADI Open Water Certification / Check Out Dives

Value Alert: Our program is unique in the industry because it includes 2 dives beyond the 4 open water check out dives & includes Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Training - A $60 course at no extra charge. A $250 value for only $190!

Note about open water dives: We normally conduct open water dives at Beaver Lake in NW Arkansas, over 2 successive days. Lodging for the overnight stay is not handled by SnS or included in the price.

We have made arrangements with several motels in the Eureka Springs, AR area for great discounts. Call for a list of these motels. One such motel is The Fly Rod Inn. Be sure to ask them for the Skin n Scuba discount.

Additional Notes: Each participant must sign a liability release and all must pass a basic medical questionnaire.

Student should own “scuba rated” mask, fins, dive boots and snorkel. If these items are purchased from our shop we will rent you all the gear required for the Open Water Check-Out Dives for a flat fee of $30 saving you at least $80.00 (some conditions apply)
